Favorite Caramel Corn Recipe

What's in it


6 quarts popped popcorn
1 cup butter
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

How to cook it


  • Preheat over at 250 F degrees. Spray a large mixing bowl and two rimmed 17 x 12 baking pans lightly with no-stick cooking spray. Place popped popcorn inside mixing bowl; set aside. In a medium pan combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Lower heat; boil 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda. Gradually pour over reserved popped corn, mixing well to coat. Spread coated popcorn evenly into prepared baking pans. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely. Store in air-tight containers.
