One of Waynesboro’s treasured annual traditions, the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony launches the holiday season in downtown Waynesboro with music and festivities. People gather in Center Square to enjoy live entertainment, a 6-foot tall candy cane, Santa’s “elves” distributing treats to children, hot chocolate and other goodies, and to watch the illumination of the Christmas tree. Horse-drawn sleigh rides are available during the cermony. On the Saturday following the tree lighting ceremony, Santa Claus arrives during the traditional holiday parade, scheduled in 2016 for Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Follow the link for more information and the Parade Entry Form.
