Let the leaves lay where they may and treat the kids to a day at National Geographic for some family fun!
Adventure in the Treetops takes you on a journey to discover what it’s like to go on a rainforest expedition in search of amazing wildlife with photographers and scientists Tim Laman and Ed Scholes, authors of the new Nat Geo book Birds of Paradise Revealed. Find out how these dedicated explorers survive in the wilderness and climb high into the treetops to find these astonishing, rare birds, known for their beautiful plumage and bizarre, entertaining antics. After the talk, continue your arboreal adventure with an afternoon of exploration at the National Geographic Museum to see the newest exhibition, Birds of Paradise: Amazing Avian Evolution. Learn more about the birds-of-paradse as well as Tim and Ed’s daring expedition through stunning imagery, compelling video, soundscapes, artifacts, and engaging activities for all ages in this highly interactive exhibit.
The Museum is open from 10am-6pm, with the last entry time at 5:15pm.
