Tots2Tweens is your home for fun, easy do it yourself DIY crafts. Check out Brodie with her Glitter Ornament craft.
For this DIY project you’ll need:
- A clear ornament (any kind – we picked these plastic ornaments up at Walmart)
- Mod Podge – matte or glossy
- Paper Plate – to keep glitter from getting everywhere (hopefully)
- Paint brush
- Ribbon (same color as glitter)
First, remove the “cap” of the ornament. This should easily pop out.
Coat the paint brush with Mod Podge and cover a small section of the ornament (about 1/4).
Over the paper plate, sprinkle the glitter onto the Mod Podge to cover.
Keep working around the entire ornament until it’s covered completely in glitter. (If you don’t have any glitter remaining in your container, you can lightly roll the ornament onto the plate to pick up glitter that way.)
Let dry completely and repeat painting another layer of Mod Podge and cover with additional glitter. (You can do this several times to get a nice thick layer of glitter onto the ornament.)
Once completely dry, take your ribbon and cut about a 6 inch length. Re-attach the ornament “cap” and string the ribbon through. Tie a knot.
