Where do you call home?
Definite “Must Do’s” in your hometown:
Downtown Frederick is an absolute must. Market Street, Everedy Square, Carroll
Meet my family:
My husband and I have two girls ages 2.5 and 1.5 with one more girl due in October. We also have a sweet little dog and my 91 year old grandmother living with us. Our family has lived in Frederick for over 20 years.
What are your passions and interests?
My passions and interests changed dramatically once I had children.
(Don’t they for all of us??!!)
My once adventurous and daredevil aspirations shifted to a more family centered collection of travel, exploration, and teaching my children as much as I possibly can about our world. I enjoy photography, horseback riding, learning, and sharing our downtown property with visitors to Frederick. I hope to move back to my home state of Colorado and live in the country with my family taking time to travel all over the world. Once my children are grown, I hope to finally pursue my dream of getting a PhD to conduct research on Psycho Educational Neuroscience. Who knows where my life will ultimately take me!
Most controversial thing about you?
I am not a very conventional, conforming parent. I stray far from current trends of parenting and I strive to do things differently and as I’ve researched and observed it to be best for my children. Thankfully, I’m headstrong enough that I don’t get much pushback and negative judgements from my peers, but I definitely don’t parent like most others.
Biggest Pet Peeve:
(we hear ya!)
One major goal you’re striving for:
I want to become more of a minimalist. Clean house, rid it of all unnecessary items and live a more clean and uncluttered lifestyle.
Best advice you’ve ever received:
When I was about to get married my father told me, “You will have days of doubt, when you want to give up and walk away. This is normal. It will cause you to remember why you are doing what you are doing. Don’t be afraid and run away, try harder.” I have carried this priceless advice through my marriage, work, and child rearing.
