Okay, so I am no “theater-goer” – in fact, I can’t remember the last show I went to. However, when I was invited to see “Shear Madness” at the Kennedy Center, I thought, this could be good.
I had no idea this show held the Guinness world record as the longest-running play in America! They must be doing something right. (Obviously, over 10 MILLION people have seen the show worldwide!)
When I heard the show had an “interactive” nature to it, I was a little concerned. Being the classic introvert, I am never sure of these types of things….
So, my husband and I decided this could be a fun date night and set out to experience the show.
First, let me say that the show is truly funny – using only 6 actors on a brightly lit stage – they injected current day humor (and lots of DC area humor as well).
About halfway through the production – after the initial set up of events – the house lights are turned up and the audience becomes the investigators into the “murder”.
Ash and I actually enjoyed this part…and he even made a few suggestions of what could have happened.
Performances for Shear Madness are Tuesday through Friday evenings at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 and are on sale now through the Kennedy Center website, in-person at the Kennedy Center box office, or by calling (202) 467-4600 or (800) 444-1324
