Welcome to Week 5! Kind of hard to believe we will be gearing up for the back-to-school frenzy soon! With school starting in a little over a month here in Maryland, I’m trying to step up the summer curriculum as much as possible. We have big plans for the remainder of this summer, including trips to Florida and Arizona, we are going to make the most of it while it lasts! What are your plans for the remainder of this summer vacation? Don’t forget to incorporate learning in everything you do!
This week’s lesson plan theme is Bugs. A great time to go out searching for bugs is right after the rains/storms we’ve been getting. Dig down into the dirt and your kids will find all kinds of fun things to gross you out with! If you are hoping to find some bugs without getting quite so dirty, the Catoctin Zoo in Thurmont Maryland has a great butterfly garden. The Smithsonian Butterfly Habitat Garden is another great place to check out.
