Oatmeal Raisin Snack Bars

Sounds like a perfect treat when the kids get home from school.

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup sugar
4 tablespoons margarine, softened
3/4 cup apple butter
1 egg
2 tablespoons skim milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 cups rolled oats, quick or old-fashioned, uncooked
1 cup seedless raisins


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 if using a glass pan).
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  3. Cream together sugars and margarine until well blended. Add apple butter, egg, milk and vanilla.
  4. Add flour mixture and mix well.
  5. Stir in oats and raisins and mix well.
  6. Spread mixture into a greased 13x9 inch baking pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
