Aguas Frescas is a refreshing and delicious drink perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day.

Prep Time:
Cook Time:
About 1 quart

1 large cantaloupe or half a watermelon, seeded and diced (about 3 cups)
1 1/2 cups water
2-4 tablespoons Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
2-3 limes, juiced

  1. Key to a delicious Agua Fresca (fresh water) is to strain fruit to make liquid as clear as possible. Use any fruit -- strawberries, pineapple, mango, etc. -- that is soft enough to puree.
  2. Puree cantaloupe and pour through a fine sieve to eliminate pulp. In a pitcher, mix strained fruit puree with water and add sugar and lime juice to taste.
