The featured speaker for the Middletown Valley Historical Society program on Wednesday, February 20th will be Dr. Robert Savitt.  The program will be held at the Christ Reformed Church in Middletown at 7pm.

The presentation will be based on Dr. Savitt’s recently published book, Middletown Valley.  The book highlights scenes and events from the rich history of our beautiful valley.  Dr. Savitt has compiled photographs and historical recollections from interviews with many valley residents.

Andrew Jackson, our nation’s seventh president, described the Middletown Valley as “one of the most favored and delightful spots on earth.” The towns of the Middletown Valley bear the imprints of some of the most telling events in early American History: the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and the building of America’s first national road.
