The tuba may make lots of LOW sounds–but did you know how HIGH it can take the fun? NSO tuba player Stephen Dumaine and NSO percussionist Eric Shin team up in a unique pairing to show you just how lively the tuba can be! You’ll hear plenty of exciting music from classical to jazz, and experience the joyful sounds of tuba favorites like Effie the Elephant and the innovative Fnugg. Along the way, you’ll get to meet some ancestors and relatives of the tuba from around the world, and you might even get to see Stephen play his instrument… while riding his bicycle! Most enjoyed by age 3 and up.

Come early for a Musical Instrument “Petting Zoo”
Starting one hour before each concert, hands-on activities let children get up close with the instruments they’ll see played on the stage.

Performance Timing: Approximately 1 hour, with no intermission.
