Performances for Young Audiences

Calling all math nerds, science geeks, and music lovers to this world premiere Connections program! Cellist and host Yvonne Caruthers teams up with her NSO colleagues–Natasha Bogachek (violin), Stephen Dumaine (tuba), and Eric Shin (percussion)–for this fast-paced multimedia program that shows 26 ways (a full alphabet’s worth!) that math and science are related to music. From “a” for accents and “h” for harmonics, to “s” for sine waves and “x” for xylophones, this exciting new concert experience promises to give students a musical AND mental workout!

For age 9 and up

Performance Timing: Approximately 60 minutes, with no intermission
