On Halloween Night, the NMCWM offers a special spooky night at the museum! Visitors will follow the lantern of their guide through the darkened galleries of the most haunted building in Frederick and hear first-hand ghostly encounters from the staff. The tour will illuminate the ghoulish side of the Civil War in a space that was used for over 100 years to embalm the dead of Frederick. The program will include scary stories that were told by soldiers during the Civil War. Interpreters along the way will recount the horrors of America’s deadliest war, from wounded men who glowed in the dark, to epidemics that claimed the lives of thousands of young men.
The after-hours tours of the museum begin at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 PM. Halloween, October 31, 2014. $15 per person; limited to 25 people per tour. Please call early as these tours will certainly sell out. Space is limited. Call 301-695-1864 to purchase tickets for these tours.
