The 48th annual Maryland Seafood Festival, Sept. 12 & 13, 2015

KIDS EVENTS

    • Snakeheads and More Aquarium Exhibit – Giant aquarium display full of notable fish including a bunch of notorious snakeheads, invasive blue catfish, largemouth bass, white perch, perhaps some yellow perch and other interesting Maryland species.(provided by The Maryland Department of Natural Resources)
    • Horseshoe Crab Exhibit – DNR’s Aquatic Education team will be on site with juvenile horseshoe crabs to see and touch as well as helpful information on where to go to learn from and about the great outdoors. (provided by The Maryland Department of Natural Resources)
  • Annapolis Crab Derby – Annapolis Crab Derby will be an all ages fun filled event to include Live Crab Races, Crab Picking Contests, Crab Shell Painting, Prizes, Giveaways, and Much, Much, More… (provided by Crabs for Kids Foundation) Crabs for Kids Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization developed to help support local, underprivileged kids and their families. CFK Foundation was established in 2012 by Annapolis, MD resident Mike Jordan, with the support of several local organizations and volunteers. Through fundraising events such as the “Annapolis Crab Derby” and from the help of private donations, local business sponsors, and volunteers, CFK Foundation has been able develop programs to help kids participate in recreational activities. CFK helps families pay sports registration fees, equipment fees, musical instrument rentals and fees related to other youth activities.
  • Entertainment Avenue – Inflatable Moon Bounce House, obstacle course and Slide
  • Fishmobile – Offering Live Exhibits & Touch Tanks (provided by Chesapeake Bay Trust)
  • Chesapeake Bay Foundation – Activities related to the Bay
  • “Raptor’s Eye” display – includes live birds of prey as well as “touchables” for the kids.
