Fall for Fairfax KidsFest Returns to the Fairfax County Government Center on October 5th & 6th
FAIRFAX, VA, September 12, 2013 –-Enjoy the best that fall has to offer at the 21st annual Fall for Fairfax KidsFest, Saturday, October 5th, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday October 6th, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., at the Fairfax County Government Center! Northern Virginia’s largest family fall festival includes more than 100 interactive activities, exhibits and programs focusing on education, sport and fitness, the environment, public safety, and personal health.
Activities include: Inova Health Stage, Fall for Fairfax Trackless Train, Farmer’s Market, Pony Rides, Instrument Petting Zoo, Hayrides, Scarecrow-Making, Petting Zoo, KidZone Inflatable Bounces and Slides, Model Trains, Pumpkin Decorating, KidWay MidWay rides and dozens of performances geared specifically to elementary school and toddler-aged children. Additionally this year’s festival includes an expanded carnival with more rides than ever before! A ride guide is available online at www.fallforfairfax.com. Fall for Fairfax KidsFest is FREE to attend; however, select activities require a minimal charge.
All-day super passes, which include unlimited turns on the Kidway Midway, moon bounce, and the trackless train, will be sold online at www.fallforafairfax.com at discounted prices prior to the festival. Individual tickets and super passes will also be sold onsite. Weekend passes are available online only.
In addition to all of the fun fall activities, three festival stages will feature a line-up of popular children’s performers, including: Milkshake, Bert The Nerd’s Thrill Show, Busch Gardens Animal Ambassadors!, Uno Dos Tres Andres, and Mad Science, as well as the music and dance of Fairfax’s diverse community. For a quick snack or a relaxing family meal, a variety of tasty dining options are available at the festival food court, and fresh produce can be purchased from the Farmer’s Market. Also, don’t miss the Community Expo located on the patio in front of the Government Center building, which will highlight various non-profit organizations that serve Fairfax County.
Parking is plentiful at the Fairfax County Government Center and FREE shuttle bus service is provided from the Vienna Metro Station (Orange Line) to the festival grounds every hour beginning at 10 a.m. For the safety and comfort of all guests, no pets are permitted at the festival. The 21st annual Fall for Fairfax KidsFest is a presentation of Celebrate Fairfax, Inc. and will be held Saturday – Sunday, October 5th – 6th, 2013. Celebrate Fairfax, Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(c) 3 organization commissioned in 1982 by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Its mission, “The Celebration of Fairfax County and Its Communities,” is met through the production of the Celebrate Fairfax! Festival, Fall for Fairfax KidsFest, and educational programs such as Events 101.
