County Sheriff’s Annual Salute to County Fire, Police, EMS & Military Personnel, with Antique Fire Engine Demonstrations & Car Show.

The Baltimore County Sheriff’s Office and the Fire Museum salute area firefighters, EMS, police and military personnel with its Annual Cruisin’ for Our Heroes, Saturday, Sept. 20th, from 10 to 2 pm. It kicks off with the 1916 Baltimore City High Pressure Wagon blasting over 500 gallons a minute from its three water cannons. Also the 85-foot, wooden, Arial Ladder truck, circa 1908 will be featured out in the front yard. Chocolate Chip Dalmatian Rescue and the County Canine Corp brings out their dogs.
In addition, area fire companies will be showing off their best emergency vehicles while fire engine collectors arrive to show off their restored antique apparatus. The Glen L. Martin Airport will send out their Airport Crash Truck to cover the parking lot with its deluge cannon.
Area car clubs will also be showing off their antique cars and hot rods during this unique show.

Pull an Alarm Box and see the call go out from one of four Alarm Offices, dating from 1870 to 2000.
Children can dress up in fire gear and climb on a 1938 Mack pumper in the Discovery Room.
Summer hours are Wednesday – Saturday, 10 – 4 pm, June – August.
