Where the World Comes to Play

The best 12-year-old players in the Cal Ripken Major/70 Division of the Babe Ruth League converge on Aberdeen, MD to crown their World Champion. The event is the culmination of a year-long journey on the Road to Aberdeen, bringing together 10 domestic teams from across the United States and six international teams from around the world.

The 12u Major/70 Cal Ripken World Series is a FREE event, open to the public. You can come and go as you please throughout the tournament week, but a FREE ticket is required for entry during Championship Weekend (Aug. 18th & 19th). Go to for your free ticket.

The 2012 12u Major/70 Cal Ripken World Series is the home of family fun and Where the World Comes to Play!

Opening Ceremonies

The teams that made it all the way to Aberdeen meet for the first time in a special Opening Ceremonies celebration, complete with a home run derby, skills competition, and capped off with the opening game of the tournament featuring the Host Team from Harford County.

Splash Day

Take in some great baseball throughout the complex and cool off from the summer heat by taking a dive into one of several water attractions that will be set-up near the fields.

International Dance Extravaganza

Show off your moves during the newest CRWS tradition – the International Dance Extravaganza!

The Cal Ripken World Series Concert

Reba McEntire is in town during the CRWS and will be hosting a concert event at Ripken Stadium, just across the street from the Cal Ripken World Series, on Friday night, August 17th. Watch exciting tournament action all day long, then relax on Friday night with the music of a country super star!

Tournament Format

Pool Play – August 10-15

Teams are divided into three divisions – two divisions made up of domestic teams and one division with all six international teams. The top two teams from each domestic division advance to Playoff Friday, along with the top four teams from the International Division.

Playoff Friday – August 17th

All games from this point forward will be played on Cal Sr.’s Yard. Seeding is based on standings at the end of pool play.

Championship Saturday – August 18th

Broadcast LIVE on CBS Sports Network.

Championship Sunday – August 19th

Broadcast LIVE on CBS Sports Network.
