Find out what PGCPS has to offer – programs – services!
Prince George’s County Public Schools’ (PGCPS) Back-to-School Fair will be a community-wide opportunity for ALL PGCPS students and parents. With the first day of school on Monday, August 20, the Back-to-School Fair will provide parents and students with access to the resources needed for a successful school year.”
Workshops on college and career readiness, parental involvement and bilingual book readings will begin at 10:30 a.m. A backpack giveaway will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. Supplies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The fair ends at 1 p.m.
Representatives from various PGCPS offices and county agencies will also be available throughout the day to provide information about resources for families and students. Attendees will be able to learn more about the PTA, before and after school programs, and school registration. U.S. Rep. Donna Edwards will speak at the event.
“The Back to School Fair will be a fun-filled day with lots of great information to prepare students for the new school year,” said Verjeana M. Jacobs, Esq., Chair of the Prince George’s County Board of Education. “We hope that our families and the community will join us on Saturday.”
Performers include Colours, the Magnolia Elementary School Step Team, 3 Boys Band (Benjamin Foulois Performing Arts) and the Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School Band. There will also be vendors and food. Admission is free. The Show Place Arena is located at 14900 Pennsylvania Ave.
