UPCOMING ART EXHIBIT AT THURMONT REGIONAL LIBRARY GALLERY
DC area artist , Alexandra Zealand, to show work at the Thurmont Regional Library Gallery.

THURMONT, MD – February 6, 2013,  The Thurmont Regional Library Gallery, a satellite location of the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, will feature the work of Alexandra Zealand in an exhibit entitled Memory: Things Said/Things Unsaid. This mixed-media art/poetry exhibit will be on display through April 25, 2013. The artist will be doing a workshop for tweens and teens on April 18, which will meld verse with art.
Alexandra Zealand is an installation sculptor. Originally trained in theatre design, she received an MFA in Sculpture from Pratt Institute. Through her work she transforms everyday objects into dynamic sculptures.

Since moving to Northern Virginia in 2006, Ms. Zealand has exhibited extensively throughout the DC metropolitan area. Her work has been seen at the Target Gallery, Evolve Urban Arts Project in DC, the artdc gallery and Artomatic, as well as in Frederick County.
