20th Annual Messiah Sing-Along
The Frederick Children’s Chorus will present the 20th annual Messiah Sing-along at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. Performers on stage will include a thirty-voice chorus, twenty-piece orchestra, and four soloists, led by Judith DuBose, Artistic Director. In the audience will be several hundred singers, waiting for their turn to sing, and listeners who have the opportunity to sit among the singers. Each year for eighteen years an enthusiastic audience has gathered, ready to sing the well-known choruses of Messiah by G. F. Handel.
In a sing-along, the orchestra on stage and the chorus on stage guide the audience to sing choruses like, “For Unto Us a Child is Born” and “His Yoke is Easy”. The audience members report that they look forward to singing what is probably the most well-known of the choruses; “Hallelujah”. Messiah is the most frequently performed major work world-wide. Messiah Sing-along concerts are prevalent throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
