About YMCA of Frederick County

At the YMCA of Frederick County, we offer a variety of indoor and outdoor sports for children of all ages. Our sports programs for young people develop more than strong and athletic bodies—they instill positive values such as teamwork, honesty and fair play. Everyone plays; we don’t use tryouts to select the best players, nor do we cut kids from a team. Everyone who registers is assigned to a team. During the season everyone receives equal practice time and plays at least half of every game.

For over 150 years, the YMCA of Frederick County has been enriching lives, bringing families together, and fostering close relationships among people.  Our main building is in Frederick, and includes numerous rooms for child care, our Health & Fitness Center, a full-size gymnasium, an aerobics workout room, and two pools.

We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That’s why, through the Y, millions of youth today are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement.
