About Creative Clayworks

Creative Clayworks has been serving the families of Montgomery County since 1995. Located in the Colesville area of Silver Spring, it started out as a ceramics studio offering classes to children and adults. Since then, it has grown into a multidisciplinary art studio where students can learn ceramics, art and pottery, as well as silk painting, printmaking, mosaic tiling and faux finishing. We run a summer camp program for budding young artists as well. Classes are small, and allow for individual attention and hands-on instruction.

Creative Clayworks is fun for the whole family! No matter what age or skill level, there is always something new to learn.  Classes are offered in eight-week sessions, which give students the opportunity to work in clay both, on the potter’s wheel and by hand. We explore the function of pottery and hand-building techniques and glazing. These techniques include pinch pots and creating objects with coils and slabs.
