As a parent, what do you do if your child says they want to die?

I have just spent the last 20 mletters for noahinutes reading in utter awe of a mom who would do anything to save her son. This mom started a Facebook page called “Letters for Noah.” On the page she describes how her 12 year old son told her he wanted to commit suicide on his 13th birthday which is just around the corner. One of the saddest parts about this is that he was perfectly fine in elementary school; the “life of the party” and “big man on campus.” How quickly kids can change. In an instant.

Noah has been in therapy. He is now hospitalized.

In a moment of clarity – his mom thought – what if people sent Noah letters to tell him that he matters and that it does get better. Brilliant idea!

So, get out those pens – grab that paper and start writing. Tell Noah what you would want to tell your child who was in pain and struggling…thinking that this must be how life is meant to be, that this is all their is to offer.

Send your letters to:

PO Box 444
Simpsonville, MD 21150

Noah’s 13th birthday is on February 8th – let’s help him get to his 14th!

So, what would you do?
