Kinder Farm Park – a fun get away
Fall is finally in the air here in Maryland. I love this time of year; cooler temperatures, pretty foliage, and the smell of apple cider, pumpkins, and comfort food. It brings a sense of excitement before the busy holiday season and offers the opportunity to get outdoors enjoy the beautiful weather.

One of our favorite traditions is to attend the Kinder Farm Park Fall Harvest Festival on the second Saturday in October. This year it falls on Oct. 13th from 10AM-4PM. Hosted by the Friends of Kinder Farm Park, it is chock full of seasonal activities all in one location. It’s also wallet friendly; perfect for families on a budget. Admission and parking are free; tickets offered for many of the activities range from $1 to $3.

Some of these activities include hay rides, pony rides, pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, and a “Boo” Barn. (One of our personal favorites is shooting the corn cannons) You can also visit local crafters, play bingo at the Visitor’s Center, watch the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Gild demonstrations, learn how to square dance, and enjoy a variety of food and drink options.

My children love going to Kentucky and visiting my parents on their farm! I think it’s something every child should get to experience. Looks like you all will have a great time!
looks like a nice place to spend the day with kids!
That looks like so much fun! That is one of the downsides of living in the city with no car, you can’t get out to the country easily. Thanks for sharing!
My 5 year old would love it.
If corn canons are what I think they are, my son would love them. We don’t have an official festival near us, but have been visiting different pumpkin patches throughout the month of October.
