Operation Backpack 2012

I stumbled upon this website this afternoon while searching for local events and I immediately knew I needed to share it with all of our parents. I feel so blessed to have the safety and security of knowing my son will always have a warm bed to sleep in and the education he needs to succeed in life. I can’t imagine how a parent who is unable to have that security must feel. Here is at least one way we can give back:

According to Operation Backpack, “thousands of children live in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia’s homeless and domestic violence shelters. One of the most devastating consequences of homelessness is the impact it has on a child’s education.  Homeless children are more likely to have behavioral issues which ultimately may lead to higher dropout rates. These children need school supplies and supportive services for the upcoming school year. You can help!”
