This week’s Mom of the Week is a kindergarten teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland and the author of our newest feature, Laurie’s Lesson Plans. Occupation: Kindergarten teacher, and mom
Meet the Family: I’m a single mom to the most amazing 4 year old boy. We have a beta fish named Dory.
Most Controversial thing about you: That I’m a single mom.
Passions and Interests: I love anything outdoors. Camping, hiking, 5k runs, skiing (water and snow). Anything to do with my son. I love being a soccer mom!
One Major Goal you’re striving for: Organize my house this summer.
Biggest Pet Peeve: It’s a toss up between people who are late or people who don’t clean up after themselves.
Best Advice you’ve received: Treat others how you want to be treated.
What are you reading? What is your favorite book? Fifty shades of grey. I love it and if you have read it you know why! Lol
What is your go-to family dinner? 
Pancakes and turkey bacon.
Favorite Kid Friendly Restaurant: California tortillas. The kids can build their own taco.
What do you do when you have some alone time away from the kids? Read, shop, listen to music with grown up words!
What types of activities do you like to do as a family? Outdoor stuff. This is the first year I took my son skiing. That was the most amazing thing seeing this little man able to experience fun outside in winter.
What do you have planned with the family this summer? Camping at the beach, trip to the lake/mountain house, family reunion in New Mexico, visit friends in Florida. Many more activities I can’t wait for summer.
