Need A Snow Day Before the Snow – Make a Virtual Snowflake

Posted by Dani Gurrie in Blog, Things to do on Sat, Dec 17, 2011

I love this part of winter. The excitement of the holidays is in the air and I am actually looking forward to the first snow day. And then, I’ll pretty much be over it. And considering how much rain we’ve gotten this year on the East Coast – we’ll either have a TON of snow or none at all!!

Actually, I am betting on the none at all because my Dad broke down and bought a HUGE snowblower this year!!

When do you think it will snow first this year?? (I want to make a bet with my family and want to see what you guys think!!)

Okay, so in the meantime, until it actually snows. Check out this website for a great way to make a “virtual snowflake” – not only is there no mess from all the scraps of paper, but the kids can make all they want. If you DO want to make real ones to put on the windows and decorate the house, then this shows how you fold the paper to make a pretty cool flake.
